Yes. The Saints accept players from schools with teams, and in fact, many players who found they weren’t getting playing time on their larger school teams have appreciated getting playing time on the Saints. The only thing the Saints require is registration and a commitment by the time practices start.
The Saints are not a placeholder for players waiting to see if they make their school team. Registration is due in full by June 1st so that our rosters are set.
No. The Saints welcome players with no prior football experience or with prior flag football experience, with reasonable expectations. Players will need to work hard to understand the positions in tackle football, plays, and schematics. Players should expect rigorous physical training requiring stamina and mental toughness. Tackle football is rewarding and a great training ground for life, but requires the right attitude and a player’s best effort on and off the field, especially if they have never played before.
No. The Saints are a competitive high school team and are not a recreational league. Players earn playing time based on ability, attitude, game, and practice performance. All playing time is awarded at the discretion of the coaches.
In a situation where a player is not enthusiastic or is apprehensive about playing we encourage you to contact our Athletic Director at saintsAD@northwakesaints.com and inquire about bringing your player out to a couple of pre-season work outs to gauge interest and receive feedback from coaches.
If a player is forced to play when they are not truly interested, it shows in their effort and can often negatively affect team morale as well as jeopardize player safety.
